The Reed

The Reed

Magical places can be found also accidentally…

After eating a delicious breakfast at Spreegold Stores (click here to learn more about this wonderful place) we went to the Berliner Dom – Berliner Dom. Passing between successive streets we noticed a wonderful place – The Reed (detailed information can be found on their website by clicking here). We only went in for a moment to see the interior of the café, which from the outside did not give a spectacular impression. After entering the cafe, it turned out that the place is very original and deserves our attention. We decided to come back here for Sunday morning coffee.

The next day, after a delicious breakfast at Domi’s apartment, we went towards The Reed. We arrived at the place around 10:30. The place was quite empty. We ordered cappuccino (2, 60 €), flat white (3,10 €) and one piece of brownie with white chocolate (2,30 €). The coffee was tasty, the brownie was so sweet that we could not finish one piece even together!

The offer of The Reed cafes also included other drinks such as freshly squeezed juices, shakes and alcoholic beverages such as beer or wine. In a separate glass-case, there were also various interesting proposals of salads and other snacks. However, my attention was fully focused on the wonderfully designed interior. Actually, let’s have a look at the below pictures!

The Reed is totally surprising and original. At first glance, many elements did not match to each other, but at some point, all of them are forming the magical atmosphere.  The cafeteria was quite a big interior and it was hard to decide where we would like to sit. We were lucky because it was practically empty, so we could choose the best place. We chose the left part of the cafeteria where there were various sofas.

Domi was perfectly matching to this place! This place must necessarily be found on your list, even for a coffee break!

However, The Reed is not only thecafeteria but also a club and restaurant (located on subsequent floors). The restaurant and bar are open from Wednesday to Saturday from 18 to 23. The cafe is open from Monday to Friday from 7 to 22 and on the weekend from 9 to 18. Below you could find a map where the way from Alexanderplatz to The Reed is shown.
